新年快樂 Happy Chinese New Year

今日は2026年2月17日で、中国の旧正月、午年の元日です。台湾では2月21日から春節休暇が始まり、うまく休みを取れば16連休にすることもできます。

娘はその16日間を利用して、フィンランドへ旅行に行きました。台湾からは直行便がないため、まず韓国に行き、冬服を買ってから、ヘルシンキへ向かいました。

そのため、今年は家族で新年を過ごしていません。旧正月は家族団らんがとても大切ですが、時代とともに考え方も少しずつ変わっていきます。

私は娘が保護したとても恥ずかしがり屋の猫の世話をするため、実家に帰らず、猫と静かに新年を迎えています。これも新しい体験です。

Today is February 17, 2026, and for many Chinese families it is the first day of the Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse. In Taiwan, we have a 9-day holiday from February 21 to February 22. If someone takes four extra days off from February 23 to 26, it becomes a 16-day vacation.

My daughter did exactly that. With 16 days, she decided to travel to Finland. Since there are no direct flights from Taiwan to Finland, she first flew to South Korea to buy winter clothes, and then continued to Helsinki.

Because of this, our family is not gathering for the New Year this time. Family reunion is traditionally very important during the Lunar New Year, but as times change, we also learn to adjust our traditions.

I am staying home to take care of my daughter’s rescued stray cat, who is too shy to stay in a pet hotel. So this year, I am spending the New Year quietly with the cat. It is a new experience for me.

今天是2026/2/17。但對中國人來說，是馬年的大年初一。我們從2/21(六) 開始放假到2/22(日)，一共是。9 天的春節假期。但是若在於2/23-2/26，再多請四天的家的話。就可以連成16天的假期。
女兒就是如此，這四天用自己的休假，創造了16天的假期。
如果你有16天的假期，你會去哪裡呢? 她到北歐芬蘭去。
因為台灣到芬蘭非常遠，也沒有直飛班機。所以她先到韓國，在韓國買冬衣，再從韓國飛往芬蘭的赫爾辛基。
也因為如此，今年過年我們家並沒有團聚。
其實，過年團聚對傳統中國人是很重要的。但是，隨著時間的遷移和觀念的感變，我們也必須慢慢學會改變傳統的觀念。
其實，為了照顧女兒養的流浪貓(她很害羞，所以不能住寵物旅館)，我也沒回老家團聚。而是，自己一個人和貓咪過年。
這也是我的新體驗。
