Daily English Upgrade #008: Say It Better — “Maybe” (natural softening phrases)

Mohamed Helmy

“Maybe” is fine — but these give you better control.

Soft “maybe”:

  • Maybe.
  • It depends.

More natural:

  • Possibly.
  • There’s a chance.
  • I’m not sure yet.

Soft opinion:

  • I’m leaning toward (A).
  • I’d probably go with (A).

Mini practice (20 seconds):
Reply with a “soft” answer:

  1. “Will you join the event?”
  2. “Should we choose Plan A?”

It’s much easier to make this natural when you practice it in real conversation. If you’d like, we can work on it together in a 25-minute lesson (supportive corrections, no pressure).
