単語マスターレッスンの第一へようこそ！このシリーズでは、英語学習をさらに良く出来るような様々な方法を教えさせて頂きます。これらの方法はすべて私が日本語を勉強するために使用した方法なので、その効果は保証できます！
Today's method is Daily Input.
What does input mean? It means you are listening, watching, and reading English materials by native English speakers.
What you choose to read, watch, or listen to does not matter, so be sure to find something that you enjoy normally! For example, you could:
今日の方法は、日々のインプットです。
インプットとはどういうことでしょうか？それは、ネイティブスピーカーによる英語の作品を、聞いたり、見たり、読んだりすることです。
何を読むか、見たり、聞いたりするかは自由です。普段から楽しめるものを見つけてください！例えば、以下のようなことができます。
- Watch a movie series you enjoy in English (Star Wars, Harry Potter)
- Play a video game with lots of reading (Any RPG will do fine!)
- Read a children's novel (Harry Potter, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Charlotte's Web)
- Read a comic or graphic novel (Marvel comics, BONE, Scott Pilgrim VS the World
It's important that you use material that is originally English, so try and avoid reading translated material such as manga or anime dubs. These are written and timed to match the original Japanese scenes, so the resulting English can often sound unnatural. If watching something, make sure English subtitles are on.
重要なのは、元々英語で書かれた作品を使うことです。そのため、マンガやアニメの吹き替え版などの翻訳された作品を読むのは避けましょう。これらのものは、元の日本語のシーンに合わせて書かれ、タイミングも調整されているため、英語が不自然に聞こえることがよくあります。何かを視聴する場合は、必ず英語の字幕をオンにしてください。
Because there are many varieties of English, make sure you are choosing movies or TV shows that match the country you would like to visit someday, if any.
英語にはさまざまな種類があるので、いつか訪れたい国があれば、その国に合った映画やテレビ番組を選ぶようにしてください。
While reading or watching, look out for words or phrases that you already know or have heard before. Make sure to understand the context of how it is used and in what way.
If watching a show or movie, try shadowing the entire sentence:
重要なのは、元々英語で書かれた作品を使うことです。そのため、マンガやアニメの吹き替え版などの翻訳された作品を読むのは避けましょう。これらのものは、元の日本語のシーンに合わせて書かれ、タイミングも調整されているため、英語が不自然に聞こえることがよくあります。何かを視聴する場合は、必ず英語の字幕をオンにしてください。

- For those interested in visiting America or Canada, choose American media.
- For those interested in visiting the UK, choose British media.
- For those interested in visiting Australia/New Zealand, choose Australian/NZ media.
- For those interested in general international English, American or British media is your best bet.
NOTE: If you study English under a certain variety (UK, Australia, etc.) and visit a country of a different English variety (such as America), people will notice your accent. This, however, is not a bad thing.

- Shadowing is when you listen to a spoken phrase and try to repeat it exactly, copying both the words and the tone, cadence, and pronunciation.
- シャドーイングとは、話されたフレーズを聞いて、言葉だけでなく、トーン、リズム、発音も正確に真似して繰り返すことです。
Shadow the sentence several times before moving on. This practice is like doing push-ups for speaking. Doing it daily over time will really show results in your speaking ability!
次の文章に進む前に、何度かシャドーイングを練習しましょう。これはスピーキングのための腕立て伏せのようなものです。毎日続けることで、スピーキング力に確実に成果が現れます！
Whatever input you choose to do, make sure that it become a daily habit. Consider it your language exercise. Set a time aside to read or watch something for 15-30 minutes at least.
どんな作品でインプットするにせよ、毎日の習慣にすることが重要なのです。語学の練習だと捉え、少なくとも15～30分は何かを読んだり視聴したりする時間を確保しましょう。
