Here are two useful phrases from my phrasebook, Speak Natural English: 50 Must-Know Phrases for Japanese Learners.

Why don’t you ~ ?
〜してみたらどう?カジュアルでよく使われるアドバイスの表現。

Example:
A: I’m bored at home lately.
最近家で退屈してるんだ。
B: Why don’t you start a new hobby?
新しい趣味を始めてみたら?

If I were you, I’d ~
もし私が君だったら〜するかな。⾃分の⽴場に置きかえてアドバイスをする時の⾔い⽅。

Example:
A: I don’t know if I should take the job.
その仕事を受けるべきか迷ってる。
B: If I were you, I’d take it.
私だったら受けると思うよ。
