Author:

Author:

Author:

Little House in the Big Woods

Author: Laura Ingalls Wilder

Author:

Author:

A Wizard of Earthsea

The language, the symbolism, the story...everything! I really love that the author studied East Asian culture and mythology and also has a lot of anthropological knowledge and you can see the open-mindedness of her worldview in the story.

Mornings in Jenin

This book is relevant for what is currently happening in Palestine. Set at the time of the first Nakba, it is a story spanning 3 generations of a Palestinian family that was forcibly removed from their home. This novel opened my eyes to the very real human suffering of Palestinian people. It is heartbreaking, but Susan Abulhawa displays a strength of character I am in awe of.

The Silent Patient

I recommend The Silent Patient because of its immersive and suspenseful writing that keeps readers engaged from start to finish. The novel’s vivid descriptions create a haunting atmosphere, making it an excellent example of how language can bring a story to life. It also delves deeply into human psychology, trauma, and silence, offering rich themes for discussion and analysis.

The unpredictable plot and carefully crafted suspense make it a gripping read while also showcasing how pacing and narrative structure enhance storytelling. Additionally, the novel introduces a range of advanced vocabulary, particularly related to psychology and emotions, making it a great choice for learners looking to expand their language skills. With its thought-provoking themes and masterful storytelling, The Silent Patient is a perfect book for those who enjoy analyzing literature and engaging in deep discussions.

Il Piccolo Principe

I recommend it for its timeless themes of love, friendship, and the importance of looking beyond the surface. While it may seem like a children's book, it offers deep insights about relationships and the nature of life. The simple but profound writing, paired with Saint-Exupéry's lovely illustrations, creates a sense of wonder that resonates with readers of all ages.
